It started just a few months ago — a curious 7-year-old named Advit walking into chess class for the first time, not entirely sure what he was getting into. The board had 64 squares, 32 pieces, and what felt like a million rules. But Advit sat down, looked up at Master Yash, and decided he was going to figure this out.
The first few weeks were all about learning — how the rook marches in straight lines, how the knight is the sneaky one that jumps over everyone, and why you should never ignore your king's safety. Some days the lessons clicked right away. Other days, a lost game would bring a small frown to his face.
But something quietly beautiful began to happen.
Advit started to slow down. Instead of rushing his moves, he began to pause, study the board, and think. That same boy who once fidgeted through everything was now sitting still, chin resting on his hand, eyes scanning every piece with quiet concentration. His focus grew sharper. His patience, deeper.
At home, we noticed it too — in the way he approaches problems, in the way he doesn't give up as quickly. Chess wasn't just happening on the board. It was happening inside him.
A few months in, and Advit has already discovered something priceless: that thinking carefully before you act is always worth it. And for this parent watching from the sidelines, that lesson alone is worth every class. 🥹

Advit is a very dedicated student. I’ve seen him grow from a chaotic player into a much more composed one who now thinks and analyzes carefully before making his moves. He is truly improving every day, and if he continues at this pace, we can expect him to perform very well in tournaments and start winning medals soon.
