- Ishvihan’s chess journey began with a simple curiosity that gradually grew into a strong passion for the game. He became very interested in chess and started playing on his own, both over the board and on online platforms such as Lichess and Chess.com. As parents, we were amazed by the way he understood the logic of the game and how naturally he was able to think through different positions and moves. Seeing his growing interest and potential, we wanted to provide him with the right guidance and a structured learning environment so that he could develop his chess skills in a more professional way. That is when we found Destiny Chess Academy and Ms. Parnika Garg.
- It has now been almost five months since Ishvihan joined Destiny Chess Academy, and we have seen a wonderful improvement in his chess journey. Under Ms. Parnika’s guidance, he has been learning not only chess strategies and techniques but also the importance of thinking ahead, analyzing positions, being patient, and making thoughtful decisions.
- Ishvihan’s enthusiasm for chess has continued to grow, and he enjoys both his academy sessions and playing independently. He recently had the opportunity to participate in a Bay Area FIDE-rated chess tournament, which was an exciting milestone in his chess journey and gave him valuable tournament experience. We are also very happy and proud that Ishvihan was selected as Destiny Chess Academy’s Champion Kid of the Month. This recognition means a lot to him and has encouraged him to work harder and continue improving. As parents, we are grateful to Destiny Chess Academy and especially Ms. Parnika Garg for recognizing Ishvihan’s interest, nurturing his potential, and guiding him in the right direction. In just a few months, chess has become much more than a game for him—it has become something he genuinely enjoys learning and improving at.

- Ishvihan is a wonderfully sharp-minded, enthusiastic, and determined learner who is an absolute pleasure to teach. He has shown incredible progress in a relatively short time, quickly earning promotions across levels and consistently performing really well in his practice sessions. What I particularly admire about Ishvihan is his eagerness to learn and his determination to keep improving. He understands concepts quickly and is always willing to challenge himself and work on his game. His recent participation in a USCF-rated over-the-board tournament was also a wonderful step in his chess journey.
- I would really encourage Ishvihan to take part in more over-the-board tournaments. I feel that with every tournament, he will gain more confidence, learn to handle different situations on the board, and continue developing into an even stronger and more focused player. He has the potential to do incredibly well, and I’m excited to see how far his determination and love for the game take him not just in chess, but in life as well. I’m extremely proud of his progress so far and excited to see all that he accomplishes ahead. Keep going, Ishvihan!
