Parent Feedback
- Our son Kiaan was initially spending quite a bit of his free time playing games and watching YouTube on the iPad. We wanted to make that screen time more productive and were looking for an activity that would be both fun and educational. That’s when we came across Destiny Chess Academy. After attending the trial class, we felt it would be a great fit for Kiaan. Kiaan was a little hesitant at first, but his coach, Abizer Pithewan, made him feel comfortable right away. His patience, friendly approach, and ability to make each class enjoyable and engaging helped Kiaan develop an interest in chess. Before long, Kiaan started looking forward to his chess classes and even his practice sessions at home. When Kiaan first joined, he knew only the basics of chess. Over time, we have seen a noticeable improvement in not only his chess skills but also the way he approaches the game. He has started thinking more strategically, planning his moves ahead, and understanding that every move has a consequence. He has also become more patient and focused and is learning to look at the board from different perspectives before making a decision.
- We feel these skills are extending beyond the chessboard as well. We have noticed Kiaan becoming more thoughtful in the way he approaches problems and situations, taking a little more time to think things through rather than acting immediately. Chess has given him an opportunity to develop his critical thinking, concentration, patience, and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way. We are truly grateful to Destiny Chess Academy and especially to his coach, Abizer Pithewan, for making Kiaan’s chess journey such a positive experience. His encouragement and dedication have played a big part in helping Kiaan build confidence and develop a genuine interest in the game. We wholeheartedly thank the entire Destiny Chess Academy team and Abizer Sir for their guidance and support. We are excited to see how Kiaan continues to grow, both as a chess player and through the skills and lessons he is learning along the way..
Coach Feedback
- Kiaan has been making really good progress, and it has been great to see him become more comfortable and involved in the classes over time. He has a nice way of enjoying the sessions, especially when we have games, matches, or more interactive activities. Those are the moments where I can really see how much he enjoys playing chess. One thing I appreciate about Kiaan is that he takes his time with positions and tries to understand what is happening on the board before making a move. He is gradually becoming more confident with his decisions, and I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in the way he approaches different positions. It has been really nice to see his interest in chess grow alongside his skills. I’m very happy with the progress he has made so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him and seeing him become even more confident and stronger as a player. ♟️😊
