From the moment Pranavi Lagishetty first laid eyes on a chessboard at the age of six, she was captivated by its complexity and charm. By nine, Pranavi joined the Destiny Chess Academy, embarking on a journey to become the best player she could be. Now a 4th grader with a variety of interests, chess stands at the top of her list, closely followed by her passion for singing. Looking back, joining the chess world in September 2025 has been one of the best decisions we could have made for Pranavi.
Chess is a true test of resilience, and Pranavi possesses the perfect blend of emotional strength and mental acuity to continually thrive. Her creative approach and keen problem-solving abilities have allowed her to channel her intelligence into the world of chess, analyzing each move and possibility with care. This discipline has not only transformed her gameplay but also empowered her to make confident decisions on and off the board. Given Pranavi’s remarkable ability to grasp new concepts quickly, we knew chess would be an ideal hobby. In just over two and a half months of dedicated play, her progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Driven by her innate curiosity and determination to grow, Pranavi has wholeheartedly committed herself to mastering the game.
At the core of Pranavi’s development is Coach Arghadeep, whose guidance has been invaluable for both Pranavi and our family. His passion for teaching, combined with a thoughtful, structured approach and an engaging personality, has ignited a true love of chess in our daughter. Coach Arghadeep’s ability to adapt his teaching style to Pranavi’s unique skill level has ensured she feels both challenged and supported. His tailored instruction has helped her build a solid foundation—one that will serve her well in the years to come.
