Every journey has a beginning, and for 7-year-old Rishank, a second grader from Virginia, USA, that journey began in June 2025 when he first stepped into the world of chess. Curious by nature and eager to learn, Rishank was fascinated by the chessboard but had little structured exposure to the game. What started as a simple interest soon began to grow into a passion.
As parents, we wanted to channel his curiosity in the right way, and that’s when we found Destiny Chess Academy. From the very first class, it was clear that we had chosen the right place. The academy’s structured approach, combined with its warm and encouraging environment, created the perfect foundation for Rishank’s chess journey.
At the heart of this journey is Coach Arghadeep, whose teaching style has been truly inspiring. He has the rare ability to explain complex concepts in a way that young minds can easily grasp. Instead of just teaching moves, he teaches children how to think, to plan, and to approach every challenge with patience and focus.
In just three months, we’ve seen a transformation in Rishank. His understanding of the game has deepened, his confidence has grown, and most importantly, he looks forward to every single class. Chess has become more than just a game for him—it has become a way to express his creativity, improve his concentration, and strengthen his problem-solving skills.
Watching him sit down with enthusiasm, plan his strategies, and even share with us what he learned in class has been incredibly rewarding. We can see how much joy the game brings him, and how much he has progressed under the steady guidance of his coach.
We are deeply grateful to Destiny Chess Academy and especially to Coach Arghadeep for sparking this love for chess in Rishank and guiding him so patiently in the early stages of his journey. With such a strong start, we are excited to see how far chess will take him in the years to come.
